ASOS CTO to Depart for Renewable Energy Sector
The chief technology officer of ASOS is leaving the company after nearly ten years to pursue a new challenge in the renewable energy sector. Clifford Cohen, who has been with ASOS for nine years overseeing its digital operations, made the announcement of his departure on LinkedIn.
Before joining ASOS, Cohen held a key position in M&S’s IT department, serving as the head of IT and interim chief information officer until April 2015. His replacement at ASOS, at least on an interim basis, is Hugh Williams, who has been named as the interim executive vice-president for technology.
ASOS’s CEO praised Williams for his extensive experience at major global technology companies such as Microsoft, eBay, and Google. Williams has been advising ASOS on technology and digital product strategy for the past 18 months.
Cohen expressed that leaving ASOS was a difficult decision, stating that it has been an honor to lead the tech team. He thanked his team, as well as ASOS executives past and present, including Jose Antonio Ramos, Nick Beighton, and Nick Robertson, for their support and friendship over the years.
