The people have spoken on Alexander Wang’s Top 10

Ask any visionary “Who owns your brand?” and the the answers will inevitably end with the consumer. Little doubt that Alexander Wang is a visionary and one who looked to his adoring fans to curate a crowd-sourced capsule collection to celebrate the 10th anniversary of being in business.

In early June, Wang asked fans to choose which items should be reissued by submitting images on Instagram and Twitter using #Wang10. It was a wise move after all, to engage the house’s core fans in contributing to the merchandise assortment, all the while promoting the brand on social. Kudos to the Alexander Wang marketing and PR teams for developing a cost effective and fan engaging campaign that ultimately impacts both the customer and the company.

The end result is a series of 10 looks that will be available on September 7th exclusively at and, followed by an in-store offering in Colette starting on September 21st.

All of this is simply ‘Part 1’ of the designer’s 10th anniversary celebration as ‘Part 2’ is around the corner. As it turns out – another fundamental belief of most visionaries – a hint of mystery is equally important as the gift of clarity. Anticipation is a gift in itself.
