Sunday Night’s Billboard Awards turned into more than just a vehicle to promote Taylor Swift’s music video, “Bad Blood,” as Balmain‘s Olivier Rousteing leveraged a red carpet moment with muses Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner to announce that the house would be the next designer collaboration for H&M.
The social sphere lit up immediately, with Rousteing revealing that Dunn and Jenner were not wearing what everyone assumed to be head-to-toe Balmain looks, but were actually a first look at Balmain’s upcoming collaboration with Swedish retailer.
This isn’t the first time H&M has unveiled its collaborations at a star-studded event since the house unveiled their collaboration with designer Alexander Wang at a Coachella secret after-party. H&M’s Instagram account confirmed the collaboration and launch date via a post that read: “Get ready for #HMBALMAINATION – H&M’s next designer collaboration with @BalmainParis launches worldwide 05.NOV.2015.”
H&M’s Alexander Wang collaboration is a tough act to follow, but The Impression believes they have risen to the occasion and we will be there to cover the launch every step of the way. Start that countdown clock.
