Tad Smith and Domenico De Sole have been appointed to CEO and Chairman of the Board for the auction house Sotheby’s. Smith will fill the role of CEO following the departure of William F. Ruprecht. De Sole will serve as Chairman of the Board while retaining his Chairman seat, held since 2005, at Tom Ford International.

Pierre Agnes replaces Andy Mooney as CEO of Quicksilver
Following the departure of Andy Mooney, Quicksilver has named Pierre Agnes as CEO and will replace Mooney on the board. Agnes has been with the company for 27 years and held positions such as President of Quicksilver Europe since 2005. Bob McKnight, founder of Quicksilver and Executive Chairman, credits Mooney for the restoration of product design and globalization while supporting his effort for a turnaround while facing significant financial challenges. Greg Healy, President of Quicksilver’s Asia-Pacific division, will succeed Agnes as President of the company. Thomas Chambolle, current CFO of Quicksilver’s EMEA division will succeed Richard Shields, who resigned but will act as a consultant through the executive transitions.

John Bryant of Kellogg’s Added to Macy’s Board
Macy’s Inc.’s board has increased to 13 members with the addition of Chairman, President, and CEO of Kellogg’s, John Bryant. Bryant has been Kellogg’s President and CEO since 2011 and a member of the Kellogg’s board since July this past year. Prior to his current position, Bryant has served Kellogg’s as Director, CFO, and COO of the company’s North American and international sectors. This makes Bryant the second introduction to the Macy’s board. Leslie Hale, EVP, CFO, and Treasurer of RLJ Lodging Trust, joined the board in January. All members of the Macy’s board are considered independent, with the exclusion of Terry Lundgren.

Selfridges Promotes Boss Myhr and Eleanor Robinson
Boss Myhr, Buying Manager for Women’s Designer-Wear, has been promoted to Director of Menswear and Technology. Myhr joined the British luxury department store in 2012 and will now report to Sebastian Mane, Buying and Merchandising Director. Eleanor Robinson, former Buying Manager of Menswear, will now serve as Head of Accessories Buying and report to Judd Crane, Director of Womenswear and Accessories.

Roberto Vedovotto, currently leading Kering’s eyewear division, has joined the company’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Kering, Vedovotto served as CEO of Safilo Group. His introduction into the Executive Committee will take immediate effect as eyewear continues to serve as a growth driver for Kering.

Monica Nicoletti and Elizabeth Carey Smith Join Zady
Zady, an organic apparel and lifestyle brand, welcomes Monica Nicoletti and Elizabeth Carey Smith to the creative team. Nicoletti previously served as Senior Director of Women’s Design with Club Monaco, Head Designer of Alberta Ferretti’s prêt-à-porter collection, and Senior Designer of DKNY and Theory. Carey Smith will join Zady as Design Director and Graphic Designer for the company website and social media channels.

Paul Metcalf Leaves Burlington Stores
After serving Burlington Stores Inc. as EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer for more than two years, Paul Metcalf has announced his resignation. Metcalf has been with the company since 2012, previously serving The TJX Cos. Inc. as SVP and Chief Merchandising Officer of women’s apparel.

James Schaefer, previously Regional Sales Manager at Jorg Gray, is now Global Sales Manager at the company.

Kendall Knysch, previously Account Manager at HL Group, is now PR Manager at Alexis Bittar.

Creative and branding agency Laird + Partners has hired Manuel Frei as Executive Creative Director reporting to Trey Laird, Chief Creative Officer. Frei joins Laird + Partners from Bally, where he served as the brand’s Chief Creative Officer and Brand Director.

Mike Karam, former Group Strategy Director for 360i, has been named Head of Digital and Integrated Strategy of Laird + Partners. Karam reports to Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning, Jennifer O’Brien.
