The Impression’s Ongoing Series Spotlighting Fashion’s Leading Creative Agencies

Project that Impressed Us
Creative Director Pascal Dangin is widely know for his innovative image enhancing techniques that lead him to found the post production firm, Box, in 1995. Since then, Box has gone on to become the equivalent of George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic for the fashion image industry, with countless images and films passing through their doors for a midas touch.
But it is Dangin’s work for Alexander Wang that took him out of the ‘Box’ and front and center as Creative Director and Founder of agency KiDS that impresses us. Shortly after founding in 2013, KiDS partnered with Alexander Wang to build a strategic separation between Wang’s namesake collection and his T by Alexander Wang line. And no sooner had their successful partnership disrupted the fashion world than Balenciaga entered the mix, and the firm again moved to build a strong and sexy visual language to aid the designer in maintaining the highbrow and artistic aesthetic of the respective designer houses.
Along the way, the creative for the Alexander Wang campaigns has gone from disruption to innovation to connection building, the most successful designer story of the last decade and attracting a legion of fashion followers. Spanning three years of campaigns which includes the launch of the sexiest denim campaign in recent memory, KiDS has become a major creative force to reckon with both for its mastery of techniques and the wisdom to know how to strategically use them.
