Liu Wen stars in the Feel Good Fashion Film for Chanel’s Gabrielle Handbag
BY IVANNIA MORTON
Chinese model, Liu Wen stars in the latest installment of Chanel’s Gabrielle handbag campaign. Following her appearance at the Spring 2017 haute couture show in Paris, which is available now.
From the moment she arrives in Paris, Wen’s Gabrielle bag is by her side. Gazing through her taxi window at Fontaine des Mers, Wen is in awe of her surroundings. She then gets out to eagerly explore the streets of Paris. Then we see her mingling amongst the haute couture attendees, and snapping selfies with Karl Lagerfeld. Although she has just arrived, it seems as if she belongs there.
While the music picks up so does the energy; with that vibrancy comes the veneration for the handbag. Its upbeat tempo and feel good vibe creates a feeling of warmth, and intrigues the eye. The use of Liu Wen is a smart one, as it helps Chanel continue to tap into her fan base. The film series itself, has been a visual representative of Chanel’s timelessness as a brand. In turn, creating this adaptability that makes Chanel symbolic in the luxury goods industry.
