Ashley Calandra Named Tom Ford VP of PR and Communications
Tom Ford has found their new VP of PR and Communications in Ashely Calandra. Calandra joins from Barney’s New York where she most recently served as VP of Communications, previously working as VP of PR and Events, and Senior PR Director prior to that. Before her time there, Calandra worked in Public Relations at multiple high-end houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, David Yurman, and Valentino.
Yasim Sewell Joins Farfetch as VP of Style and Creative
Online fashion retail platform Farfetch has tapped Yasmin Sewell to fill their newly created role of VP of Style and Creative. Previously, Sewell was Fashion Director at Condé Nast’s Style.com, which shuttered last year after Condé Nast’s new partnership with Farfetch. In her new role, Sewell will oversee global creative and editorial teams as well as styling direction for the Farfetch site.
Olivela Taps Ariel Foxman as Chief Brand Officer
Ariel Foxman is joining fashion e-commerce platform Olivela as their Chief Brand Officer. Foxman previously consulted on content strategy and branding leading up to Olivela’s launch in June. Foxman joins from Time Inc., where he acted as the Editorial Director for InStyle, StyleWatch, and the InStyle Collection. Prior to that, Foxman held editorial positions at Condé Nast, The New Yorker, and Details magazine.
Finery Appoints John Hind to CEO
John Hind has joined British woman’s wear label Finery as their Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Hind was interim CEO of ME+EM since 2015. Prior to that, he was COO for 4 years, then CEO for 2 years at WE Fashion. Hind succeeds Nickyl Raithatha, co-founder of the brand who will now serve on the board.
Kristen Campbell Joins Bottega Veneta as VP of Global Marketing
Luxury Italian brand Bottega Veneta has tapped Kristen Campbell as VP of Global Marketing. Campbell was previously the head of her own professional consulting agency, KC consulting, which specialized in restaurant and product management. Prior to that, she was VP of Global Marketing at Michael Kors for 5 years.
Antonio Seward Promoted at Audemars Piguet to North America CEO
Luxury Swiss watch company Audemars Piguet has appointed Antonio Seward as Chief Executive Officer of their North American operations. Seward previously served as the General Manager of the brand’s Singapore branch, and his promotion includes a move from Singapore to New York City. Seward has been with Audemars Piguet since 2008, and has held many executive leadership roles such as CEO of their Iberia and France branches, as well as Managing Director of the North America.
Thomas Trube-Bourne, previously Director at Christian Siriano, is now VP of Business Development at Reem Acra.
Kate McWilliams, previously Director of Communications at Sidney Garber, is stepping down from the firm.
Laird + Partners Taps Gustaf Törling as SVP and Executive Creative Director
Trey Laird’s creative agency Laird + Partners has named Gustaf Törling as SVP and Exectuive Creative Director. Törling joins from Estée Lauder where he was VP of Global Creatives for Origins. Prior to that, Törling was Executive Creative Director for Select NY, and before that was the Founder and Creative Director for his own namesake brand, Törling.
Hearst Magazines Appoints Jon Gluck to Executive Director of Editorial Talent, Development, Special Projects
Jon Gluck is joining Hearst Magazines, filling their newly created position of Executive Director of Editorial Talent, Development, and Special Projects. In his new role, Gluck will develop new and existing publications, create special projects, and oversee senior-level editorial recruiting. Gluck joins from Condé Nast where he served as Managing Editor for Vogue. Prior to that, Gluck spent a decade at New York Magazine as Deputy Editor. He succeeds Eliot Kaplan, VP of Talent Acquisition.
Eliot Kaplan Departs from Hearst Magazines as VP of Talent Acquisition
Eliot Kaplan is retiring from his position of VP of Talent Acquisitions at Hearst Magazines after 18 years with the mass media conglomerate. Before his time with Hearst, Kaplan acted as Editor-in-Chief for Philadelphia Magazine for 8 years, and prior to that he was an Executive Editor for GQ for 8 years.
Verity Parker Joins Sunday Times Style Magazine as Associate Fashion Director
The Sunday Times Style Magazine has tapped Verity Parker as Associate Fashion Director. Previously, Parker was a Fashion Editor at British Vogue, and prior to that she was a freelance stylist.
Anthony Demetrius, previously Account Coordinator at Karla Otto New York, has left the firm.
Hayley Maisel, previously Account Manager at Purple PR, has left the firm.
