Chanel Names Virginie Viard as Creative Director Virginie Viard, Director of Chanel’s fashion creation studio and Karl Lagerfeld’s closest collaborator for more than 30 years, has been entrusted by Chanel CEO, Alain Wertheimer, with the creative work for the collections.
Salvatore Ferragamo Promotes Paul Andrew to Creative Director Ahead of their upcoming Saturday showing in Milan, Salvatore Ferragamo has promoted Paul Andrew from Women’s Creative Director to Creative Director of the firm. Guillaume Meilland will remain as Men’s RTW Design Director, adding studio director to his responsibilities. Andrew joined Ferragamo in 2016 as Women’s Footwear Director and was promoted a year later to Women’s Creative Director.
Pandora Appoints Alexander Lacik to CEO Alexander Lacik has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Pandora. Lacik joins the world’s largest jewelry company from child safety product distributor Britax Ltd., where he served as both the CEO and Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that, Lacik worked in marketing leadership at Reckitt Benckiser and Procter & Gamble. Outside of these responsibilities, Lacik also sits on the boards of Swedish companies HL Display and Coxa Carry International.
Debra Perelman Named Revlon CEO Revlon has appointed Debra Perelman to Chief Executive Officer, making her the first female CEO in the company’s 87 year history. Previously, Perelman acted as Chief Marketing Officer at the company for the last year. However, it wasn’t her first time at Revlon, having worked as an Associate Project Manager from 2000 to 2004. Prior to her role at CMO, Perelman was at MacAndrews and Forbes for 14 years, most recently serving as their EVP of Strategy and New Business Development
Macy’s Taps Patti Ongman as CMO Patti Ongman has been named the new Chief Merchandising Officer at Macy’s. Previously, Ongman served as the EVP of and General Business Manager of Macy’s Home department. Before that, she served as the company’s Chief Planning Officer. She will be succeeding Jeff Kantor when her promotion goes into effect March 1st.
J. Jill Hires Elliot Staples as SVP of Design Elliot Staples has been tapped to act as the new SVP of Design for J. Jill. Staples has held the role of VP of Design at multiple fashion brands including The Limited and Maurice’s. Prior to these positions, he was at Gap Inc. for 8 years, most recently serving as Senior Design Director for their women’s line and accessories collection.
Deb Henretta Joins American Eagle Board as Independent Director American Eagle has added Deb Henretta to their Board of Directors. Henretta has years of experience serving on the board for different companies including Sprint, Staples, Godiva, Meritage Homes, Corning Incorporated, and NiSource. Alongside these responsibilities, Henretta also served as the Group President of Procter & Gamble.
Carine Roitfeld Pulls Back from CR Fashion Book as EIC Founder and Editor-in-Chief of CR Fashion Book, Carine Roitfeld, is stepping back from her position at the company. She will not be leaving the company entirely and operate as a key stylist and director. Patrick Sandberg, Editor of CR Men’s, will be overseeing the publication as Editorial and Creative Director.
