Copenhagen Fall 2021 Fashion Week Goes Digital

Copenhagen Fashion Week Adjusts To Online Planning In Light Of New Government Restrictions

As the upcoming fashion week in February 2021 approaches, Copenhagen Fashion Week has pivoted to completely digital.

In light of the spike in COVID-19 cases and increased restrictions by the Danish government the body responsible for organizing Copenhagen Fashion Week has canceled all physical shows and the two fashion fairs CIFF and Revolver. The fairs will be canceled due to a ban on all trade fair activities by the government until the end of February 2021.

Due to the current development of Covid-19, we have been forced to cancel all physical events this time, including the trade fairs. Copenhagen Fashion Week’s show schedule and talks program is still carried out, although virtually, via our digital universe at copenhagenfashionweek.com. Even though it is definitely unwished-for, it is undeniably the right thing to do, and instead we look forward to being able to meet physically again for the August 2021 fashion week.

This is a notable change as Cophenhagen Fashion Week was among the first to return to an, albeit hybrid, in-person format last summer.

The online digital event will consist of showcases by Ganni, Rotate Birger Christensen, Soulland, Rains, Stine Goya and Baum und Pferdgarten.

This summer, Copenhagen Fashion Week launched a new hybrid format that made it possible for brands to be on the show schedule with both digital and physical formats – a flexible opportunity embracing new possibilities and respecting global responsibilities in light of Covid-19. With the recent development of the pandemic, this edition of Copenhagen Fashion Week will adapt a fully digital format to ensure the new restrictions are upheld while still allowing brands the opportunity to present their seasonal collections to Copenhagen Fashion Week’s international audience.

All shows and talks can be experienced from 2-4 February 2021 via Copenhagen Fashion Week’s new digital platform on www.copenhagenfashionweek.com, which will be launched on 14 January. The show schedule has already been published and the talks program will be published in mid-January.
