Farfetch And Nataal Form Partnership To Celebrate Black Creativity In Fashion

Farfetch and Nataal Work Together To Champion Creative Dialogue

As Farfetch continues its efforts to champion and give space to more Black-owned brands, boutiques, and creatives, the global platform for the luxury fashion industry has partnereded with Nataal.

Nataal is a multimedia brand celebrating contemporary fashion, beauty, visual arts, music, and culture from Africa and its diaspora. In this year-long partnership, Farfetch will work with Nataal to create content that supports the talent that they work so hard to highlight.

The first iteration of the partnership launched in February, as part of Farfetch’s celebration of US Black History Month, and is materialized by Balmain and their Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing. This special story, inspired by Rousteing’s Black style icons, was captured by photographer Kenny Germé and stylist Edem Dossou in a shoot and editorial that express how the ground-breaking spirit of these icons remains an enduring influence on modern luxury today.

Nataal creative director, Marie Gomis-Trezise says: “It was important for us to share this opportunity with Kenny and Edem, two Black artists in Paris who have brought their unique gaze to this story alongside a diverse creative team. We hope this project opens doors for more young Black French artists to work with luxury houses in future.”

— Marie Gomis-Trezise, Creative Director of Nataal

Through this partnership Farfetch will help bring Nataal’s vision to a global audience in an effort to continue dialogue between different communities, and to celebrate the undeniable talent of the creatives at their cores.
