Fendi celebrated a monumental year of achievement and renewal with a blockbuster takeover of Times Square ad space. Artistic directors Kim Jones, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Delfina Delettrez Fendi stared up in amazement at more than 45 digital screens blanketing the square to celebrate a historic year for the house, starting with Kim Jones’ first Couture collection in January and concluding with a collaboration with Kim Kardashian West, Fendi x Skims. The Roman maison embraced the disruptive spirit and energy of the New York City streets with the digital display in the signature Fendi yellow across iconic Times Square.

In January 2021, Kim Jones introduced his debut Fendi Couture collection with a digital show inspired by Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’, modeled by a cast close to the designer including Demi Moore, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell. Fendi’s Women’s Ready-to-Wear show followed in February 2021, Jones’ first for the brand.

In July 2021, Fendi’s opened a newly designed New York flagship boutique on 57th Street, the first under the Artistic Direction of Kim Jones. July also marked the launch of Jones’ first RTW collection in store, featuring runway silhouettes alongside the coveted Fendi First handbag.

Kim Jones and Kim Kardashian West then revealed a collaboration in October, the Fendi x Skims capsule, announced by WSJ Magazine, where Jones was honored as a 2021 Innovator of the Year.
