Jil Sander+

Spring 2021 Ad Campaign

Review of Jil Sander+ Spring 2021 Ad Campaign by Creative Directors Lucie & Luke Meier and Heiko Keinath with Photographer Tim Elkaïm with models Awar Odhiang & Leon Dame

Jil Sander+ takes some time for relaxation and rediscovery in a tranquil new campaign. The Spring 2021 campaign features creative direction from Heiko Keinath and photography by Tim Elkaïm.

Each season, Jil Sander+ complements and expands the world of the main Jil Sander collection. Drawing inspiration from nature, the special collections feature relaxed, functional, often unisex pieces created for life outside the city. It’s an exciting and personal endeavor for creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier, both from the perspectives of functional design and the wider vision of the house.

Echoing the comfortable, organic approach to the collection, Elkaïm creates sensitive campaign imagery that displays a love for the natural world and our relationships with it. Captured on the coast of Biarritz, France, the images have a mood of hazy, dreamy blissfulness. The color work is excellent, with the natural tones of the collection fitting beautifully into the many moods and dimensions Elkaïm manages to draw out of blue.

Restful and restorative, the campaign beautifully captures the spirit of possibility and personal discovery behind the collection.
