Just in time for this weeks ‘Super Blood Wolf Moon’ Angela Missoni and the house of Missoni have released their latest Spring 2019 ad campaign inspired by celetrial bodies.
After several seasons away from the house, supermodel Gisele Bündchen has returned to lend her credence and her own celestial body to the campaign. On the men’s side of the campaign equation, Missoni enlisted Egyptian singer Tamino Amir Moharam Fouad, the latest sensation in the European alternative rock scene.
The campaign and its mystic, natural elements were art directed by Giovanni Bianco and his team at agency GB65. Each image by photographer Harley Weir echoes the tone of the clothes.
Bianco has a gift for visuals and specifically his use of color. Missoni is the perfect client to leverage those gifts and let him run with ideas. Here each astral backdrop image is custom colored to tie into the clothing, and yet the vastness of space solo acts as a unifier. The blue nocturnal lights and moon synergize with the ruffles and gossamer knitted mesh of collection.
Bianco is all too familiar with Bündchen’s range, having art directed her 536-page hardcover tome, “Gisele” from Taschen in 2015. Here he leverages that relationship to marry the models signature flexible poses to augement the narative.
Overall the campaign has serene and occult naturalist undertone. One the is a page stopper which is after all the job. Here is to hoping that the Super Blood Wolf Moon lights the way to a sucessful season.
