What are the tell-tale signs of an authentic poet blouse? To start, a loose-fitting top, framed by full bishop sleeves and topped off by dramatic frills on the front and around the cuffs. This season, many a designer embraced perennial favorite Poet Blouse for their Spring 2021 collections, perhaps a nod to all of their at-home artistry.
Decorative billowing sleaves seem to float their way into the collection of Louis Vuitton and adorn the regency era tops of Erdem. While some labels, like Alberta Ferretti, Temperley London, and Stella McCartney, kept the traditional elements of a poet blouse, others, like Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini and Rokh, pushed the blouses’ decorative element with bold embellishments and exaggerated sleeve lengths, playing with proportions.
