Store Scout – rag & bone Miami Design District
BY GILLIAN CASTRO
rag & bone has opened a new store in Miami’s Design District. Laid out over two floors and 3,995-square foot space, rag & bone shows their signature design aesthetic with an emphasis on garage, raw interior concept, and dynamic in store experiences.
The garage concept creates distinct points throughout the store. The space also includes a private clients lounge on the second floor with furniture crafted by the brand’s in-house custom fabrication shop.
The brand uses artwork from several different artists throughout the store. The expanded fitting rooms features specifically designed murals by artist 2Alas. Other features include video content projected on the floor’s main wall, a vending machine dispensing candy, stickers, and tattoos, and original artwork by artist Alexis Diaz.
On the first floor there is suspended racks and reclaimed wooden fixtures that hold the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections and accessories. Over by the vending machines sits footwear and fragrance displays. The stairway to the second floor displays a custom 3D art installation by artist Boy Kong. The second floor houses the denim bar and an intimate lounge area.
There will be an ongoing series of art installations on the main exterior walls of the second floor to support emerging artists. The exterior walls will change bi-annually to highlight the work.
