Rimowa Opens Its First Flagship Store in Paris | Store Scout

RIMOWA has inaugurated its first flagship store at 73 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The new flagship is RIMOWA’s largest store to date and presents the label’s entire range of high-end luggage. Spanning five floors in all, the flagship replicates the commercial aviation from the golden age. The aluminum of the RIMOWA luggage takes inspiration from the first metallic planes. Customer’s will feel like they are transported into a modern airport without the hassle of stress and lines. Other features of the store include a large exhibition space, a projection room, a customer service center, and a full-on repair shop.
In order for the brand to differentiate themselves from the competition, the brand has devoted a special area to its new RIMOWA Electronic Tag. This features a digital check-in solution launched in 2016 in partnership with Lufthansa and Eva Air. It is the first system in the world which allows travelers to check suitcases using a smartphone and deposit them at automatic baggage-drop machines, saving consumers time and stress.
Recently the LVMH Group, has joined forces with the German house, RIMOWA. They purchased much of the stake in hopes to grow and expand the brand in the upcoming years.
