Rodarte, Altuzarra, Proenza Schouler & More Team with IMG to Form NYFW Alliance

IMG seeks to revitalize NYFW through exclusive partnerships with rising designers

IMG has announced the creation of the IMG Fashion Alliance, a partnership with leading American designers that seeks to reinvigorate the lineup and impact of New York Fashion Week. The partnership represents an exciting investment in the future of American fashion design.

Through the Fashion Alliance, IMG will partner with American designers to offer resources like production support and talent, and provide financing to aid them in bringing their creative visions to life each season. In exchange, designers commit to show their collections in New York during fashion week for the next three seasons.

Members of the alliance, including Telfar, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, Brandon Maxwell, Prabal Gurung, Sergio Hudson, Monse, Jason Wu, LaQuan Smith, and Markarian, will all present collections as a part of NYFW: The Shows. IMG hosts The Shows on its own schedule, separate from that of the CFDA, which also runs from September 8th through the 13th.

The unveiling of the Alliance arrived in tandem with IMG’s announcement of a new multi-year sponsored partnership with installment-based payment platform AfterPay.

The partnership represents an exciting push to revitalize New York Fashion Week. As NYFW tends to lag behind its international counterparts, the alliance represents an important investment in American fashion’s future. Thus, IMG has carefully and optimistically selected these promising mid-career designers to form the vanguard of contemporary American design, looking forward to their continued creative success and potential as leaders of the global scene. It’s exciting to see such a strong commitment to the future of American fashion, and we wish them all the best.
