Last season saw the tide shift at Tiffany & Co. as the house engaged forward photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh to lens a spokesperson that wouldn’t have been a predictable choice from the outside for the house, Lady Gaga.
This season, under the direction of their new Chief Artistic Director, Reed Krackoff, Tiffany & Co. is continuing to steer toward the unconventional enlisting Elle Fanning, Zoe Kravitz, David Hallberg, Annie Clark, and Janelle Monáe. All once again photographed by Inez & Vinoodh in a campaign entitled ‘There’s Only One.’
‘There’s Only One’ [campaign] is a celebration of self-expression and embodies the spirit of Tiffany. The narrative is told through six individuals who are empowered, intelligent and unafraid to express themselves, each with their own unique talent and personal style.
While each certainly have their own talent and style, what The Impression finds alluring is the contrasting black and white photography of hands in the spread creative. Granted the portraitures of each celebrity are inviting, but the idea of brining a touch of artisanal edgy through the graphic composition is something we hope to see more of from the house. Because when you own a color, a rarity, it would be nice to see how far you can take it.
